About Active Music Services

1. 2001 AMS was launched by Dinah Pye as an eCommerce music consultancy. Dinah was born in London and studied flute, recorder and piano at The Guildhall School of Music & Drama and Kings College (London) followed by further studies at London and Reading University.
   
   She has taught in London, the West Midlands and Wales as a peripatetic teacher, head of music, LEA advisor, curriculum trainer and private teacher. In 1990 she returned to her Mother’s roots in Wales and continues to contribute to the arts, youth facilities, community regeneration and business development.
   
   
   
2. AMS has provided orchestras, choirs, ensembles, soloists, festivals, education centres and local education authorities with concert programme notes and music education resources since 1994. For more information click on Concert Notes
   
   
3. 2006 AMS purchased Swales Music Centre in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire and the aim is to continue the friendly and excellent mail order service for choirs across the world that existed for over 50 years
   
   
   
4. 2006 AMS launched the Choral Music Centre in Wales. Dr. Alwyn Humphreys MBE, renowned conductor and TV presenter kindly officiated at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff. For more information click on Choral Music Centre
   
   
   
5. 2008 AMS launched an upgraded website with access to e-catalogues, specialist one-stop-shop for choristers, PayPal facilities and new instrumental products.
